About Us

Frolic Farm is born of a love for play, an eye for beauty and a desire to protect the natural world while sharing joy with the community. Flowers are the medium,  appreciation is the message.

 

Bethany is a fourth generation farmer from Prince Edward Island who worked in nonprofits and community inclusion before finding her way back to the land. She holds a Master's in Migration Studies and loves applying the principles of diversity and community health to the ecological spaces in which she works. She finds peace and purpose working in nature, and loves the constant learning that comes with farming. No two days, or seasons, are the same - especially in the Maritimes.

 

Long before the first flowers bloom are daily rituals of seed saving and selection, sowing, kelp gathering, composting and adding nutrients to the land. Frolic farming practices follow the organic/ecological methods and seek to increase soil and habitat health by feeding the soil,  abstaining from chemicals, and working alongside not against nature.

 

When she's not farming or designing, Bethany can be found surfing (year-round), forest-bathing, foraging for mushrooms, dabbling in poetry, or enjoying coffee with friends. 

 

Her approach to floral design is intuitive, letting the shapes and spirits of the flowers speak to her. She loves the reciprocity of farming - taking care of the land, sharing joy with the community, and participating in cycles of beauty. This makes Bethany’s heart sing, and she hopes it speaks to yours, too.

 

Frolic Farm flowers feature the best and most beautiful of what's in season each week. From April to October,  we offer ever-changing  fresh-from-the-field flowers and herbs, alongside unique foraged foliage. Grown with care our flowers and packaging are always eco friendly and designed with a penchant for the wild and whimsical. We take pride in making each arrangement as fresh and eco-friendly as possible, and truly one-of-a kind ♥
